Plants wil be from arid locations around the world, depending on species in the selection.
Habitat Conditions
These plants are from hot, dry, sunny locations close to the equator. They are adapted to intense sunlight and very high daytime temperatures. Like most succulents, they only open their leaf pores at night to exchange carbon dioxide and oxygen - this is to conserve moisture. As such, they require a period of darkness every day in order to photosynthesize.
Plant Care
Light
High light is best, and they will tolerate bright sunlight.
Watering
These plants need little in the way of water. The soil should be allowed to dry out between watering.
Pruning
These plants cannot be pruned. If offsets are produced, they can be cut from the plant close to the base if they cause congestion in the pot. They can be rooted and will grow into new plants.
Feeding
A weak solution of fertilizer can be added to the water.
Pest & Diseases
Generally pest free. Mealybugs and, occasionally, scale insects might be found. They should be physically removed.
