Creeping Fig Living Picture

Ficus pumila

("FY-kus pew-MIL-ah")

£195.00
Hanging

Our Living Picture is an innovative self-watering vertical planter that brings commerical green wall technology into the home. The built-in water tank delivers just the right amount of water to the plants using a special microfibre capillary cloth. Watering is straightforward - when the tank is empty, a little red watering can appears on the bottom the frame. Just top up the tank through the filler hole. You will know when it is full as a yellow marker will appear next to where you add the water.

Fixing the Living Picture is very straightforward. As long as you can drill two holes, using the template provided, then you will be fine (if you are fixing it to a stud wall, you will need to use appropriate hollow wall fixings). Full instructions are provided in the box.

Our Living Picture comes with six ready-to-plant Ficus pumila plants, which will give a nice green coverage to the display. Just take the plants out of their coir pots and push into the planting pockets on the Living picture (three in each row). Fill in any gaps between the plants with potting compost.

All our potted plants come in compostable coir pots - read more here.

Usage

Indoor use only

Plant Care

Light

Medium-low - high. Avoid direct sunlight

Watering

Keep soil moist but not wet. The soil should be allowed to dry out a little between watering. Ficus pumila also benefits from misting with tepid water to reduce the risk of spider mites and to keep the foliage looking fresh

Pruning

The plant can be cut back at any time to manage its shape and size. Dead and dried leaves should be pinched out as they occur

Feeding

A little dilute fertilizer should be added to the water every time you water the plant

Pest & Diseases

Keep a lookout for two-spotted spider mites and mealybugs, both of which can be removed by cleaning (a wash down with a hose pipe, or under a shower - not too strong - is quite effective) or by cutting away any affected foliage
